There were so many great shots of this beautiful family, I had a hard time deciding which ones to share! I love this whole group dearly-- they're such dear friends of ours. You can see First Lieutenant (Promotable) Mark as Corny Collins in the upcoming Scera production of "Hairspray!" It proves that real men (who carry guns in the line of duty) can sing. And dance. We can't wait.

This kid ACTED like he hated having his picture taken, but when push came to shove...

This one cracked me up, I couldn't help but share it. All the love from those big brothers.

Gilson Family Reunion

Oh the heat! Nothing like a family reunion in the middle of July to get you going! We had a great time taking pix (although I'm sure they all ran for the sprinklers when we were done), and great-grandma even surprised us with a headstand! I'll bet her grown kids wish they could still do that... :) I was especially thrilled with the portrait, and tender kiss, of the matriarch and patriarch of this clan. We captured a beautiful moment for their family to remember.

Just some personal shots... my beautiful red toy poodle, Jasmine, had her first litter of three apricot girls in May. I grew up with poodles and love them dearly-- one of the most intelligent breeds and they don't shed (!!!). I couldn't help but post a few favorites.

Peterson Development

I had a great opportunity recently to try my hand at real estate photography. It was certainly a change! No one wiggling, giggling, crying, or pulling faces... the homes just sat there... :)

I was hired by Peterson Development located in the Salt Lake valley to photograph many of their current and past projects for use on their website and promotional materials. I coveted the gorgeous homes with exquisite details, and loved meeting a lot of new people involved with their company who were so generous with time and efforts. If you're in the market, check out their projects here. You won't be disappointed! It made me want to move to Salt Lake.

These two waited a long time to become three, and it shows. Their delight and love for Baby Girl is palpable. I loved watching them during our session at Thanksgiving Point. And Grandma came along for the ride (literally, right?), so I caught a few with her as well. What a treat.

This dear lady drove over two hours to have me do this shoot, even though she's a photographer too! Needless to say, I was flattered! We had quite an adventure hiking around in the snow, then back to my place for hot cocoa (rule one: always bribe the kids). At least that was their ploy. I think the real plan was to play with my puppy! Next time I'll have to lead with that.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this lady, she's one of my best friends in the world, for around fifteen years now (and if THAT doesn't make me sound old, I don't know what will!). She is truly lovely inside and out, and I'm sure that forty years from now, we'll laugh and say, "honey, you look just the same!"

Nor are there enough words to describe her gorgeous children... all six of them. I stand in awe and bow down before her mad mothering skills. Not to mention the eyes they've got going for them.

Autumn is for Red Leaves and Red Hair

Mid-November found us on a ball field, saying farewell to a glorious fall... my favorite time of year. The sky was so blue, the light was warm and bright. We had fun chasing these kids and rolling down hills. Good sports. :)

Another glorious day up the canyon and a session with no lack of action! Two of my favorite people have five children (under the age of seven) that kept me hopping! And I just have to mention, Mom deserves a standing ovation for scheduling a family photoshoot just two weeks after giving birth!

Such beautiful children-- I can't get enough of those blue eyes!

My very own Brady bunch-- except this cute, powerhouse of a mom actually gave BIRTH to her three sons and three daughters, all in a row (with a little help from Dad, I imagine!). Coming from a family with just two children, I loved to sit back, clicking away, and watch the dynamics of this crew-- I'm secretly jealous of big families. You always have someone to play with when there are that many of you! And I so appreciated their patience in my trying to get all of their "J" names straight!

So Amy and Alan, enjoy! Thanks so much for letting me be part of the family for an afternoon!

Sisterly Love

One of the benefits (or downsides) of being my sister is that every time you come to town, you're carted off on a photo shoot. Once my kids were in school, we went off for a quick scouting trip and found some great locations. I should write off my mileage-- I'm always keeping one eye peeled for interesting spots.

One of the benefits of being HER sister is that I get to take pictures of one of the prettiest women in the world. Her husband ain't bad either. And their son... well, he's a walking Gap ad.

Yep, that's his finger up the nose. I thought it was hysterical. But their smiles are so big, I couldn't help but include it! :) They'll remember his three-year-old-ness forever.

Baby Ethan

Photographing this brand new boy was so sweet. We even had a chance to cuddle one on one when Ethan's mom was busy taking care of his big brother. The teeny guy reminded me a little of my son when he was brand new. Sadly, my baby boy's feet are nearly as big as mine now and I can officially wear his shirts! But he still lets me snuggle him. Lucky me.

This last one is a favorite. His big brother's dimples are astounding, and I think this little man is well on his way!

We had an adventerous Memorial Day picnic at the park-- many popsicles were consumed, footballs thrown, rocks climbed, and jungle gyms conquered. Good times. Here are a few of my favorites.
